Simple Searches

Using the Search Box

Enter the keyword(s) or search query in the Search box, select how long ago the items were created; then click Search or press Enter. The search results appear in the area below the Search bar (main window). For more information, see Viewing Search Results.

Search Tips:

• Multiple keywords must be separated by spaces.
• You can type in keywords or Boolean/free-form query strings. To clear the search, click the Home Navigation link.
• Wildcards, Boolean and other operators may be used in creating a search query. If you have no AP Images account and no Boolean operator is used, AND is automatically used between words. This means that all words entered must be found in an item for it to be returned from a search.

Using the Selected Items Menu

The Selected Items menu keeps track of items that you selected from your search results. To display the menu, click the Search box. The number of selected items is indicated to the right of the menu label. Click Selected Items (or its associated at right) to select the following actions from the menu:

Using the Recent Searches Menu

The Recent Searches menu saves all of the simple searches that you ran during your current AP Images session. To quickly rerun a simple search, click the Search box à Recent Searches à select the appropriate recent search link. The most recent search is on the top of the list.

To clear the searches from the menu, click Clear.
