Viewing Search Results

Showing/Hiding the Columns

To obtain additional screen real estate, click or to hide or show the left column (Refine Search). For more information about refining your searches, see Search Within Results.

Number of Search Results

The total number of matching items appears at top, along with the number items that appear on a page.

The number of results per page can be modified by changing the layout. To page through the stories, click or or enter the page number in the Page box.

Number of Selected Items

To quickly draw your attention, the number of selected items appears beside the icon. Click Select All or None to select all items on the page or deselect all selected items, respectively.

For convenience, any items that you select will remain selected until you deselect them, even when you navigate to other AP Images website pages.

Keyword Searches

If keywords or search terms were used in your search query, they are indicated in bold red text where found in the item's title and caption.

Searching Within Results

To further narrow your search results, click Refine this Search or use the Refine Search column. For more information, see Searching Within Results.

Performing Actions on Multiple Items

To perform actions on multiple items, select the check box beneath each item; then click a multiple item action button.

Click Select All to select all items on the page; click None to remove all selections.

Viewing Selected Items

Selected items can be viewed separately in one of two ways:

• Via View Selected

  Select the desired items from the search results; then click View Selected.

  

  The selected items appear separately in the main window, allowing you the ability to perform many of the same search result options.

  

• Via the Slide show

  Select the desired items from the search results; then click beneath any of the selected items. The items and their captions appear in a separate slide show window.

  

   

  Click...	To...
  Prev/Next	Navigate between items.
  Play	Allow the slide show to advance automatically.
  Close	Exit the slide show.

Sorting the Results

Select an option from the Sort by: menu to arrange the items by:
