What's New in This Release?

• Advanced Search Changes
  The Media Type menu has been changed to the Search Section menu, which contains the media categories (Examples: Images, Videos) and subcategories (Examples: AP Complete, All Editorial) that correspond to the media landing pages found in the Search bar.

For certain media categories, additional options may appear below the Search Section menu to further filter your results.

• Search Box Menu
  Previously, AP Images would only allow users to perform searches for content associated with the current landing page. Now, users can click anywhere in the Search box to display a menu with new options to perform searches for any entitled content, regardless of their current landing page.

• Search Results Thumbnails
  Users can move the mouse over an item’s thumbnail to enlarge it and display its full caption.

• GraphicsBank Image Downloading
  If entitled, the downloading of graphics and mattes has been streamlined to require less user interaction.

• Content Message for Unregistered Users
  When an unregistered user (or user who is not logged on) runs a search, a message displays from the search results and the Enlarged View to inform the user that they must log on or register to see more of the AP Images collection.

• User Interface Refinements
  To optimize the user experience, minor user interface refinements (such as changes to button/link labels and graphical page elements) were made to the search results .

• Newly Designed User Interface
  AP Images now has a new look! The website has received a number of enhancements, including an improved user interface design, Internationalized marketing information presented in nine languages and simplified menu navigation for content selection.
• Browse-Only Capability
  AP Images is now available to potential clients without user accounts; however, with limited website functionality. Unregistered users are only allowed to browse our latest content in our showcases, featured events and news categories, as well as perform searches for specific content.
• New Landing Pages
  Landing pages (accessible from the Search bar's Images menu) are now available for Sports and News.
• Refine Search Capability
  Users can now use topics from the Refine Search column to search within their displayed search results.
• User Registration
  To obtain additional user functionality, such as content or managing saved searches and lightboxes, users can register for a user account directly from the website without intervention from the AP Images Sales force.
