GRAND CANYON KAIBAB TRAIL

The Kaibab Trail, running right to left in the center, at the Grand Canyon National Park is shown on Jan. 20, 2001. The trail is one of many Grand Canyon National Park trails that will be maintained with a $1 million grant in addition to many new trails to be developed. The grant was the largest ever made in Arizona by the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. The new trail system, called the Grand Canyon Greenway, will consist of 73 miles of handicapped-accessible trails on the south and north rims of the canyon. The remaining funds will be used for trail maintenance and restoration. (AP Photo/Matt York)
