FAMOUS MUMMY

A mummy at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., awaits DNA testing Tuesday, June 13, 2000 to see if it is the famous Pharaoh Rameses I. The mummy under scientific scrutiny is one of nine mummies, coffins and other Egyptian artifacts the American museum purchased last year from Bill Jamieson, a private collector in Toronto, for $2 million. Until recently, these artifacts were part of the collection from the Niagara Falls Museum and are believed to have been brought to Canadian the 1860s. (AP Photo/Ric Feld)
