Former Mechelen city council member for N-VA Melikan Kucam and nine others, including his wife and son, were convicted last week, for human trafficking, passive corruption and criminal conspiracy. They helped 219 persons (mainly christians from Syria or Irak) to get humanitarian visa against payments. Kucam is found guilty and sentenced to eight years imprisonment and a fine of 696000 euros.
