Cars 4 Heroes Colorado

Before starting their climb, Mandy Horvath and Travis Strong work on their social media before heading up the Manitou Incline, after that to the top of Pikes Peak, Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, outside Colorado Springs, Colo. With "legless legends" printed on their t-shirts, they are climbing Pikes Peak to raise awareness and money for the Cars 4 Heroes, a non-profit that raises money to fix up donated cars for veterans. Horvath who lost her legs in a railroad accident became the first double amputee to climb Pikes Peak last year. This is the first time for Strong who lost his legs in Iraq when his combat vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. (Jerilee Bennett/The Gazette via AP)
