Cars 4 Heroes Colorado

Mandy Horvath, left, and Travis Strong stretch before heading up the Manitou Incline, in Manitou Springs, just outside of Colorado Springs, Colo., on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, and after that to the top of Pikes Peak. With "legless legends" printed on their t-shirts, they are climbing Pikes Peak to raise awareness and money for the Cars 4 Heroes, a non-profit that raises money to fix up donated cars for veterans. Horvath lost her leg in a railroad accident and Strong lost his legs in Iraq when his combat vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. They expect to be finished late Sunday.
