Elbtal - German and Czech forces practise emergency

24 August 2019, Saxony, Bad Schandau: An emergency doctor talks to a woman from the mountain rescue service about a patient during the national disaster control exercise "Sch'na 2019". After a storm lasting several days over Saxon Switzerland and around Dresden, the catastrophe happens: A landslide buries the tracks in the narrow Elbe valley not far from the Czech border. A Eurocity train drives into the scree avalanche and has an accident. This scenario in an impassable terrain was the starting point for Saxony's largest disaster control exercise to date.
