Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

Light snowfall and poor ice coverage on the traditional Iditarod trails forced the start of the 2017 race north, to Fairbanks. Roughtly a mile from the starting line, race fans lined up on the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska to high-five mushers as they began their nearly 1000-mile trek on Monday, March 6, 2017.
