Lord Baker wants EBacc scrapped

Lord Baker wants EBacc scrapped. File photo dated 31/01/19 of Lord Kenneth Baker, who created the GCSE system as Margaret Thatcher's education secretary in the late 1980s, has stated that GCSE reforms have caused a sharp decline in music and arts in British schools and should be scrapped. Issue date: Monday August 19, 2019. He has blamed the English Baccalaureate, or EBacc, for "squeezing out" technical, cultural and creative subjects from schools. See PA story EDUCATION GCSE.
