MLK50 The Witnesses

In this Feb. 21, 2018 photo, Dr. Jerry Francisco shows where the assassin's bullet hit Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on April. 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tenn. As the Shelby County medical examiner at the time, Francisco performed the autopsy on King. After the 1½ hour procedure, Francisco drove home through a city that had been placed under curfew, for fear of rioting. “The streets were just virtually empty. I was the only car moving on the street,” he said. It was eerie, he recalled. (AP Photo/Mark Humphrey)
