Paddy harvest season in Srinagar, India

Kashmiri farmers seen threshing paddy at a field during the paddy harvest season in Budgam district, south-west of Srinagar. Paddy is the most widely crop in Jammu and Kashmir and it has an extensive range of cultivation. it sown in the month of June and is harvested in September-October. Paddy is harvested on approximately 1.40 lakh hectares of land, which constitutes 28 percent of the total agricultural land in Kashmir. Autumn marks the period of traditional harvesting in Kashmir.
