Skilled workers report

Skilled workers report. File photo dated 19/11/08 of workers in a factory. Research by the Prince's Trust and Govia Thameslink Railway suggested that the shortage of skilled workers will get worse. A survey of 1,004 employers indicated that many believed it will get harder to recruit skilled employees. Issue date: Tuesday January 21, 2020. Almost half of employers questioned said that traditional recruitment practices are no longer working and that they need to be more innovative. A separate poll of 2,250 people aged 16 to 30 found that half feel they have missed out on jobs because they were not given a fair chance to show their skills properly, said the report. Seven in 10 said employers rarely give them helpful feedback when they have been unsuccessful in applying for a job. See PA story INDUSTRY Skills.
