Hobo Convention 1938

Delegates arrive by train in the typical style of the "side door pullman" for the 30th annual Hobo Convention in Altoona, Pa., April 11, 1938. They had weighty matters on their minds for curing business recession. They want freight trains limited to 70 cars, to make more trains and train crews. They would exempt railroad stocks from taxation until carriers "get on their feet." The convention opened in Altoona on April 10. (AP Photo/Bill Allen)
