Ann Burge, right, 24, Vancouver, Canada an English major and graduate of the University of B.C., shares an old Laotian bamboo house in Vientiane, Laos in July 1968, that rents for 14.00 US dollars per month with Tom Hinkle, 25, Lexington, North Carolina, a former U.S. army Sgt., and now musician and singer who leads a combo known as the Voyagers. The house has no electricity or running water. Their bed is made from an old opium table and their furniture consists of bamboo mats and cushions decorated in Indian fashion.
