WWII England British Paratroopers

Included in the equipment of British paratroopers are folding motor scooters, wellbikers, which are dropped with them in parachute containers. These handy little vehicles are collapsible and can easily be lifted by one man. They have a speed of 40-45 M.P.H. and are tough enough to be ridden over rough country. Petrol consumption is 180 miles to the gallon. A paratrooper lifting a folding motor scooter from its parachute container, Nov. 9, 1943, while another rides by during a training exercise. (AP Photo)
