Aviation Plane Accidents US American Airline 1959

Salvaging pieces of death plane diver climbs over barge into east river off Rikers Island, as tail section of American Airlines Plane Sticks out of water where Plane crashed in New York on Feb. 4, 1959. The huge Turbo-Jet carrying 73 persons crashed into the River just before midnight Feb.3 while heading in for a landing at La Guardia Field. There are only eight known survivors.
