World Bee Day in Nairobi, Kenya - 18 May 2022

Trainees at the National beekeeping institute learn how to pump smoke on a beehive before opening. The institute plays a big role in training beekeepers and interest groups in bees conservation. Beekeepers and other interest groups are meeting to mark the world Bee Day on 20th May 2022 in Nakuru Kenya. World Bee day is celebrated on 20th May annually. Kenyan beekeepers, researchers, training institutes, bee farming product sellers, and advocacy organizations are meeting in Nakuru, Kenya to mark the world bee day and sensitize the nation and the world at large about the importance of bees in our ecosystem. The theme for 2022 is "Bee Engaged: Celebrating the diversity of bees and beekeeping systems". Beekeeping is a widespread and global activity, with millions of beekeepers depending on bees for their livelihoods and well-being.
