When Freud published his book "The Interpretation of Dreams" in October 1900, it laid the foundation for the new science of psychoanalysis. Freud believed dreams contained symbols which revealed much about an individual's personality. His revolutionary work in human sexuality, and the power of the unconscious mind gave new meaning to the references of the id, the ego and the superego. Freud's ideas and techniques profoundly influenced the future of modern culture. (AP Photo) Use Information This content is intended for editorial use only.
