Al-Tai decided to convert his house into a temporary museum where he is displaying more than 5,000 pieces reflecting the heritage and history of Mosul, which was severely damaged between 2014 and 2017 under the Islamic State's rule. Al-Tai spent nearly 33,000 US dollars in pursuit of his passion to collect and preserve pieces from all past and present cultures of Iraq's northern Nineveh Governorate, including Muslim, Christian, Kurdish, Turkmen and Jewish.
